Question about pulling in new leads into Marketo

I am viewing a list of leads in Marketo. I want to pull in additional leads from a separate system based the criteria/characteristics/datapoints of the people that I am seeing in this list. How can I do this in Marketo? Thoughts?

  1. use the same criteria in the other system
  2. download the list
  3. prepare in csv with correct column names
  4. import into marketo as a list

Marketo will de-dupe leads based on the email address field. If a lead uses multiple email addresses, you'll want to de-dupe based on other fields like full name. Marketo makes this easy from the "Possible Duplicates" smart list in the Lead Database.
