Query related Dynamic Fragments

Hi Everyone,

In AJO, we can make Fragments dynamic, but this feature is unavailable in the new Marketo Email Editor. In the Email Editor, a Fragment can only be dynamic at the email level, while in AJO, the Fragment itself can be dynamic.

Does anyone have an idea what the workaround is for this?

Depending on what exactly you’re putting in your fragment, in Marketo, you can leverage a combo of Global Tokens and Velocity scripting.

I used Velocity scripting to display the fragment value, but only the default value is populates. How can I test the rest of the variants?

Kinda hard to say if we don’t see your VTL code.

In general (and this does not have to do with whether or not you have your code set up correctly), if you want to test the different versions of an email in the New Email Designer, you will have to go to Simulate Content > Send Proof > add in the email that you want the proof to go to, and simulate as someone who should get the particular version you want. You will have to do this one by one.

In Email Editor 2.0, you used to be able to send to all the variations on a particular list, and that is not available right now.

You will have to have email addresses in your database (whether they are real or just for testing purposes) that have the correct setup in their record to have the appropriate fields populated for the content you’re simulating.

It wasn’t available previously but for us Fragments now include the Conditional Content option. One of the product managers also confirmed this should be available. So if you’re not seeing the Conditional Content icon in your Fragments now, could be worth contacting support.
