Purging Marketo generated tasks from Salesforce activities.

We have over 1 million activity records (2.5Gb !) in our Salesforce Org, primarily generated from the Marketo integration.

Our reps want to track sent email, opened email, clicked link, etc. etc. So turning that off is not an option. However, I can see purging records older than say, 1 year or 18 months.

The Salesforce Mass Delete function allows operation on merely 250 records at a time - not practical when dealing with over 1 million records.

Can someone suggest a (preferably free) app that will allow mass delete of unlimited activity records? Or another approach to cull these old Marketo activity logs?

Hi David,

I've been in this same situation; in that case, we simply used Relational Junction to do a database-level removal of those activities. Any sort of mass editing/deletion almost has to be done through an external tool like that.

If you find you're doing more campaign-based marketing, an alternative solution to tracking email through activity logs is to use campaign statuses which sales can see through Salesforce.
