Programs vs Engagement Programs

We are just starting to learn about and use programs. Should we go ahead and get going on programs or should we skip programs and go to engagement programs?

Sandy I think you'll find both are important to your mix.  Programs in general are a container to manage assets, simplify reporting, and sync nicely with SFDC Campaigns.  Engagement Programs in particular offer some functionality to simplify lead nurturing based on some of Marketo's best practices, such as segmenting by stage of the buying cycle.
