predictive content in emails image is broken

Hello All,

Recently, I tried adding predictive content email images to my template. I followed the steps mentioned in the documentation, but whenever I previewed or sent a sample of my template, the image appeared broken.

Additionally, the image URL changed to ****.mktoapp.com/recommen.... or something similar.

Has anyone faced this issue before? Any suggestions on how to fix it would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks, everyone, for your support. I checked with the Adobe team, and they have fixed the issue on their end. The predictive images are now rendering correctly as expected. Thanks again!

Hi @karthikeyankr

Marketo Predictive Content relies on user context (mkt_tok) to generate and serve the recommended asset.

Sample emails and previews do not pass the required token/context to render the image properly. You will always see a broken image in:

  • Sample Emails

  • Email Editor Preview

  • Test Emails sent from templates

But it will work properly when sent as a live email to a person in your database. So I'd recommend you to try sending an actual email (you can send to a seedlist) and it should render correctly.

Hope this helps 🙂

@awmindtree  thanks for the reply.

I tried your suggestion, but I’m still facing the same issue. I used the same image URL from the template (http://templates.marketo.net/newsletter3/post2.jpg). When I insert the image directly, it works fine. However, when I enable Predictive Content in the template, the image does not render.

Hi @karthikeyankr ,

Have you set up the RTP tag to use predictive content.

If not you will have to set up the RTP tag for your domain & sub domain. You can read more here.

Hope this helps 😊
