Postal Code Range Filter

I'm trying to use the Postal Code Range Filter in my smart list.  I've got opted in as true and then the postal code range begins with 90001 and ends with 90068.  I keep getting 0 people -- and I know I have thousands. I've tried different ranges - still 0.  I've even tried my own zip and I get 0.
I appreciate any thoughts you may have.

how exactly are you looking at Postal Code? Is it

Postal Code BETWEEN 90001 and 90068?

Is that field text or a number in your system?

Yes, it's Postal Code Range BETWEEN 90001 and 90068
