Outlook Plugin and Marketing Suspended

I'm trying to confirm a behavior I'm seeing related to the Sales Insight Outlook plugin.  It appears that if someone uses the Outlook plugin to send an email to a lead that isn't in the database ("mktUnknown"), Marketing Suspended is automatically being set to true.  Is this expected?

It doesn't look like this happens when an email is sent to an existing lead.

Ideally, I wouldn't want marketing to be suspended every time a sales email is sent; I would rather the sales reps use a campaign in Sales Insight to do that.  I can understand why it would be suspended for an Unknown lead, though.

I've seen this happen too. My hunch is that Marketo does this to prevent Marketing from sending an email that may have dynamic fields..

If this lead was to be included in one of your marketing email messages that has "Dear [First Name]", that sender would receive " Dear mktUnknown,"

Hi Karen,

This is a precaution against sending multiple unsolicited Marketing emails for records which are not entered organically into the database, as well as the scenario Ashley mentioned.  If you want this to be the behavior for all sales emails, you'll need to set up a trigger campaign for Sent Sales Email to flag this field.
