Open Rates and Text Messages

Hi,

If our customer base is only allowed to receive text messages, are the text message open rates reflected in the reporting? Basically, does Marketo track open rates for text messages?

Thanks,
Linda

From my current understanding, there is no way to track open rates for text (SMS) messages. This is a limitation on carrier-side, not Marketo. Maybe, somebody else can correct me here if I am wrong?

Alternatively, you could use a call-to-action in your text message, and use that as proxy in your reporting for open rates.

Are you using Twilio to deliver text messages?

Thanks for responding. Good idea about including a call-to-action. I'm not familiar with Twilio, I'll have to research. Do you recommend it?

Thanks again.

Twilio is great. It is very easy-to-use with Marketo. Company-wise they have great support.

A good starting place would be to check out the LaunchPoint listing for the Marketo-Twilio integration:

I will check it out, thanks so much!
