Only Synchronize XXX Leads with Salesforce

Is it possible to retain a certain group of leads within marketo without having them enter the SF ecosystem?

For example, say I have "free trial" leads that I don't want in salesforce until they have been nurtured.  Is there a way to prevent them from making the jump?

Hey Robert,

Marketo will not sync leads created in Marketo to SFDC unless you tell it to.  This means that you'll ned to set up your lead lifecycle to prevent synching to SFDC until you've nutured them.  Typically this is done with a trigger campaign based on a lead status change, then telling Marketo to sync them to SFDC.

So - can/should I still use the "Salesforce Campaign Sync" to tie each marketing program to a SF campaign, or would this sync the leads once their program status changes automatically?
