Old email sent out without scheudling? help

Hello,

An old email went out to our marketing alias. This email was from 2015 and I need to figure out why it was sent out. Two questions for you: how do I search which program this email is part of? Also, we have multiple partitions, how do I see which one got it?

Any suggestions?

search the db for your alias.

are you sure it is an email from your Marketo to your marketing alias? Did you check the headers?

I've seen this "appear" when an email asset is in two or more programs, and one of the programs is still live.

thanks Josh.

i pulled out the internet header from the emails.  how can i check to see if the email was sent from my Marketo?

Can you post a screenshot of the email header? It's usually pretty easy to see if the email was sent from Marketo, just do ctrl+f = marketo in the original message

If you know the email addresses of those who were sent the email, look into their activity logs - that will give you the exact program/smart campaign that sent the email.

Hi Dan,

I checked the activity log of individuals on that email alias. The last activity shown is from a week ago, not today.  it's not showing a specific email program or campaign.

Since you were able to retrieve the headers, I suggest you file a Support ticket.  We have subject matter experts that know how to read headers to identify the source instance, source campaign, and intended recipient if it was sent from Marketo.

I'm curious what was the resolution?

Hi Kevin,

we have multiple marketing aliases. I didn't properly check the activity log of one particular alias. So I basically needed to double check the activity logs of all the aliases that we have..... so lesson learned
