Not was Sent Email vs Member of Program = False

Hello!

Wanted to get your thoughts on best practices and a little bit of a sanity check to be honest. I am sending email 1 and email 2 on the same day.  I want to suppress email 1’s audience from email 2, so everyone who received email 1 will not receive email 2.

Is it better to do Not Was Sent Email = Email 1 or just do Member of Program (in this case, the email program) = false?

How long should I stagger the email so that I can effectively suppress the audience? I don’t think it’s doable to send them both out on the same time since it takes a while for the system to recognize the logic?

You could send these emails at the same time if you were able to make an exakt split of the audience. Can you?

Not was sent email or not member of program is a matter of taste, I would say. Yes, you will need to wait between sends, but depending on your audience size that shouldn’t be more than an hour or so. If you’re sending to 2 million people though, it might take longer.

The audience size would be much smaller! I was thinking more like 15-30 minutes since the send is about 100k and 6k. Is that too short of a time?

That’s likely fine (of course you can check the program member count beforehand if you’re really paranoid). But like Michael asked, why can’t you know who will be in each audience from the start?
