Normalize first name token

Hi,

We would like to insert first name token in our email subject line. However, some of our first names in our database are in all caps and some of them are in all lower cases. Is there any functionality in Marketo that enables only capitalize the first letter of the first name for all contacts in the smart list?

Thanks!
Jeanine

I don't think so, but you can easily export your entire Marketo database out into Excel (with columns FIRST NAME and EMAIL only unless you need the others) and do the same in Excel, simply re-uploading the list back with the changes.

Here's a link on how to do that in Excel: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/excel-help/use-formulas-to-edit-correct-and-proofread-text-RZ006183133.aspx?section=3

We have a feature called Email Scripting that will allow you to control this.  There is more information here about Velocity Scripting.  I cannot tell you how to write the code, but I do know it's possible.
