Question

No option to create a new role or a custom api service

I am a developer and I am trying to update leads in the marketo database.

I am following these directions to adding a new API user: http://developers.marketo.com/blog/quick-start-guide-for-marketo-rest-api/ 

I dont see to have any option to create a new role or create a custom REST service.

I am an admin with all permissions. Could someone please give me some idea of what this may be happening?

Hi Evan,

Going into the Admin section of the instance, you will find the Users & Roles section. Going over to the 'Roles' tab you will be able to add a new role. Give this role a name and select everything under API.

Now create a new user. Select the API role and tick the 'API Only' box.

This should get you on your way. Let me know if this works.

Yeah there is no New Roles button. That is what I am having trouble with...

Hi Evan,

Not every Marketo subscription has the option to create custom api services.  In order to find out if you should have it, or to get it added to your instance, you should speak with your account manager.

Ah that is good to know. I think this is the correct answer. We probably dont have the correct subscription level.
