New Leads Vs. Existing

What is the best report to run to see how many new leads vs existing leads month over month or coming in daily?

I have a dashboard created in the RCE which has lots of information on Lead Stages, Sources and flow but if I wanted a easy report what would be the best practice? Just a simple Analytics and change the set up to daily or monthly? Ideally it would be great to show new leads coming in and who they are in one simple report.
