Munchkin Tracking Opt out

Hi,

So I added the muncking codes to a sandbox site of our company website.  While in marketo I selected to support the tacking opt out feature since we are an international company.  I am not seeing any opt out option.  I deleted all my cookies, had other colleagues look at the site for the first time and still nothing?

Hi Jenn, 

the opt-out option is actually inside the visitors browsing settings, so you don't see any actual opt-out button on your site. By supporting the browser do-not-track setting in Marketo, you respect the visitors request to not track his / her behaviour on your site. 

However, a cookie will still be installed, and an anonymous lead will be made, but the behaviour won't be saved.

Thank you for your prompt response Ruud.  :)

By selecting the 'Do not track' option in the Admin area does this mean that all vistors behavior will not be tracted?

Hi Jenn, 

at your service ;).

No, it means that it won't track behaviour from visitors that have chosen this option in their web browser. Firefox, for instance, allows you to let the browser tell websites that you don't want to be tracked, but it's up to the site to honour this request. By selecting 'Do not track' you will honour this request, and you will track all behaviour, except for individuals that have chosen this option in their browser.
