"Modified On" Field - what does it track?

Hi all!

The "Modified On" field in Marketo - does this only track any modifications to data fields on a lead's profile, or does it also track when a lead has been "added to a list" or has become a "member of a program," or "has visited webpage?"  Are those activities (besides changing data values) clsasified as modifications, and tracked by the "Modified On" filter?

Thanks!

Hi Nichole,

I'm not sure i'm familiar with the field your referencing.  Are you sure this is a field or is it an added constraint?

Thanks,
Tara

Hi Tara,

Here is a screenshot.  I looked at field management in the admin section, and it is a standard field.  We have Microsoft Dynamics for CRM, not sure if that makes a difference.

Thanks,
Nichole

Hi Nichole, I'm not sure if that's a standard Dynamics field, or if it's something that's been added into your instance as a custom field. It doesn't appear by default for SFDC users. Not super helpful, but it might help you to narrow down the ways it got into your system.

I don't believe it's a standard field, but I personally use SFDC.  I'd look for a data management campaign that is updating this field to determine what activities are causing an update to the 'modified on' field.

Thanks ladies!  I inherited the instance after Dynamics implementation, so not entirely sure either.  Just thought I'd ask in case there was a quick answer out there I just wasn't aware of.

Thanks again!
