Meta Tags - How much is too much?

I've read a number of articles about Meta Tags, how they work, how and when to use them. However, all the article I read don't talk about quantity. Is there an appropriate number to include when sending out an email campaign? Does it matter on content or subject?

As a general rule, many expert recommend:

  • Page title – 70 characters or less
  • Meta description – 160 characters or less
  • Meta keywords – No more than 10 keyword phrases
