Merge People activity in Lead Activity log

Hi,

 

Recently, we have noticed that some leads' activities show the "Merge People" option, even though the leads haven't been merged. It appears that they have simply updated the form with the same email address.

 

May I know the reason why it occurs?

The lead you’re looking at is not Anonymous.

 

An Anonymous lead (identified by its Munchkin cookie) is merged into an existing Known lead when they fill out a form or follow a tracked email link, or when a custom/commercial app uses the REST API to perform the same action.

You’re seeing the merge of an Anonymous record with a standard (Known) record.

Yes, the lead is anonymous, but I'm curious about the recurring appearance of the "Merge People" option. I've noticed it appearing almost four times within this month.

The lead you’re looking at is not Anonymous.
