Hi, I'm Amarjit from Toronto and have been using Marketo since 2014. I primarily create target marketing audience lists for all our marketing campaign, focusing on the Database section in Marketo and SFDC. I am interested in learning about other Marketo areas, and ultimately getting a certification.

Hi @ksbingham @rross1cy @amarjit_hayer

Glad to know all of you are actively using Marketo! Looking forward to helping you achieve your Adobe Marketo Engage Professional (AD0-E555) certification 🌟

I know preparation for the certification can feel daunting, so let's break it down and tackle 1 section of the exam each week.

  • Week of May 27: (Section 1) Building and Managing Programs
  • Week of June 3: (Section 2) Building Assets
  • Week of June 10: (Section 3) Defining and Targeting Audiences
  • Week of June 17: (Section 4) Analyzing and Building Reports

Please run through the respective sections in the AME Professional Exam Prep Guide (requires login) and feel free to post any questions that come up along the way!

At the end of each week, I will also be posting a quiz to give you an idea of the possible exam questions and to test your knowledge on each section.

This week, let's focus on (Section 1) Building and Managing Programs. Unfortunately, it seems that the scope of this section listed in the Exam Prep Guide might not be accurate, so you may refer to the following scope instead.

  • Given a business need/question, identify an appropriate reporting strategy to perform an analysis.
  • Analyze data to answer business questions.
  • Identify conversion funnels (as a concept to understand business analysis).
  • Consult the Solution Design Reference (SDR) to determine what data is available in reports.
  • Analyze report data to summarize and draw conclusions.
  • Recognize outliers and anomalies in reports.
  • Identify when to use each of the 4 program types.
  • Identify why/when to use the Event Program.
  • Identify why/when to use the Default Program.
  • Identify the special features of Engagement Program.
  • Identify the special features of Email Program.
  • Recognize what can be cloned.
  • Identify the benefits of custom tags.
  • Identify the purpose of channels.
  • Describe the importance of period costs.
  • Recognize the concept of using person scoring.
  • Understand communication limits.
  • Recognize program membership and acquisition.
  • Understand customer communication preferences.
  • Apply best practices for review prior to launch.

My main moto is to learn from industry experts like you and get certification of most demanding marketing automation tool.

Hi @ksbingham @rross1cy @amarjit_hayer @khanson20 @aditik

Here’s the quiz for this week on (Section 1) Building and Managing Programs:

Imagine your team has curated a valuable list of upcoming industry events and wants to collect leads by offering this gated content on your website.

Which type of program should you utilize to capture the leads through a form and send the curated list to these leads via an email?

  1. Email Program
  2. Default Program
  3. Event Program
  4. Engagement Program

Please reply to this message with your answer by Wednesday, 5 June. Look forward to finding out how well you understand the different types of program!

I believe it will be a Default program if you're creating a form to collect names to send elsewhere after the event.

Hi @amarjit_hayer @rross1cy @ksbingham @khanson20 @aditik

Hope you’re having a lovely start to our 2nd week of this mentorship program!

This week, we will be focusing on (Section 2) Building Assets. Please run through the Exam Prep Guide and if possible, familiarize yourself with the actual configuration / interface through some hands-on in Marketo. If you have any questions, feel free to post them in this thread.

Gentle reminder to also attempt the week 1 quiz on (Section 1) Building and Managing Programs, if you have not done so. Looking forward to your questions and participation!

Hey Clement when uploading a image in design studio how can you change that image in all assets at the same time without having to go into each asset one by one. For example: If a logo block is used and something is added how will all assets be updated using that logo block?

Ronnie Ross, M.Ed

Hey @rross1cy

The most efficient way is to replace that specific image in the Design Studio.

You can follow the steps listed here

You will essentially be re-uploading the image without changing the file name / URL - thus the updated image will be reflected in all of your assets (e.g. emails, forms, landing pages).

Hope this helps!

Hi @rross1cy @amarjit_hayer @aditik @khanson20 @ksbingham @emanespares

Hope you had an amazing week! Here’s the next quiz on (Section 2) Building Assets:

Which of the following statements about creating/editing assets in Marketo is FALSE?

  1. To replace an existing image in Design Studio, you must delete the old image first before uploading the new one.
  2. Draft assets are editable and not live, while approved assets are finalized and live.
  3. Local assets are specific to a program, while global assets can be used across multiple programs.
  4. Approved assets can be reverted to draft status for further editing if needed.

Please reply to this message with your answer by Wednesday, 12 June. Feel free to let me know of any questions as well!

Amarjit_Hayer

A is false, replace will overwrite the selected file, keeping the original filename if the new one was different, so no deletion is required.

@clement-2 Printable docs would be a great help to ensure we are on the right track, and to use when offline. I find my self going down rabbit holes with the 'useful resources' and links within the documentation. Not sure to what level of detail we should be preparing for the exam, which I am told is meant to be quite basic.  e.g. when we working on building & managing programs, were we to look into how to sync with event partners, notification errors, etc., or just be able to understand what each program type is, what you can/cannot do with each, how to create them etc.?

Hey @Amarjit_Hayer

“Going down rabbit holes” - that was exactly how I felt when I was preparing for my certification!

To stay on track, I would suggest sticking to the objectives / scope outlined for each section. If you can answer all of them confidently, I’m certain you will pass that section.

Based on the objectives / scope for section 1: building and managing programs, it is unlikely that you will be tested on “how to sync event partners”. I have personally never seen questions on that either.

The objectives / scope for each section are outlined here, as well as in the Exam Prep Guide.

At this juncture, you may also want to attempt the practice test available in the Adobe Certification Exam Prep Portal to have a better idea of the actual questions and the depth of understanding required.

Hope this helps!
