Question

Marketo to SF Sync is stripping info?

We launched a new campaign.....we made several fields required, including email address of course....but when the info comes back....the fields are blank and are syncing into Salesforce without carrying over all the information.

What are we doing wrong? Why are the required fields blank? All we get is first and last name.

It is possible that the fields are not correctly linked with one another. E.g., if it's a custom field in Marketo that is not linked to the right field in SFDC, that could be a reason. I can't think of any other reasons other than a sync issue.

Hi Brandon,

Could you clarify a bit on what you mean by information being stripped by the Saleforce sync?  How is the info coming into Marketo, and is it only after the lead syncs to Salesforce that the info is lost, or is the info failing to come into Marketo in the first place?

Hi Roxann...

the info is being lost once the reply comes back to Marketo....so they are filling out a form to join a Webinar....once they are done and reply, the info comes back to Marketo....but most of it is missing.

I suggest speaking to support.

It sounds like your Form is doing something strange or perhaps you are getting spam leads, which are often blank.

Hi Brandon,

If the information goes missing after the sync to SFDC, it may be that Salesforce is overwriting the data in Marketo.  If you contact support, we should be able to help you determine if this is the case.
