Marketo/Salesforce Campaign Sync - Prevent Status Updates

Hello,

I am trying to amend the current webinar sync we currently have with salesforce. The issue we are having is the volume and view we see in salesforce about the campaign.

We currently have the following status: member, invited, registered, did not attend, attended, attended-on-demand. As I understand it once we sync with salesforce each of these statuses are synced and updated.  Is there a way we can sync just those who have the status "attended" or "attended-on-demand" to salesforce? I want to share this campaign view with the sales team however at present we are seeing all statuses which is also impacting on performance due to the volume.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Carl

Hi Carl,

No, this is not possible. Vote here:

The only 2 ways to do what you want as of today are

  1. NOT to use the program / campaign sync and use "add to SFDC campaign" and "Change SFDC Campaign Status" flow steps instead.
  2. Use a dummy sync'ed program for each of you real Marketo programs. See Re: Syncing campaigns/programs with SFDC but not all of its members

Hi Gregoire,

In terms of option 1, would we therefore need to create a campaign in SFDC first then carry out the change status method as suggested?

Yes.

The other possibility is to create it from Marketo, (using program sync -> new campaign), then wait until the member statuses are propagated to SFDC (it will happen on the next regular sync), and break the sync from Marketo (reclicking the campaign in the program summary screen, then choose "None").
