Marketo Role in Salesforce

We know we need a specific Marketo User and Profile in SFDC. Do we need a Marketo specific Role?

No, just the User and Profile. You may want to review the Role the user Should have though.

You would create or assign a customer Role only if there is a subset of records that don't want Marketo to have visibility/access to.
