Marketo mapping to specific Salesforce opportunity stages

Can Marketo map to a specific sales stage or is this where Salesforce comes into play?  It would seem Marketo sends the data with associated point score level and it is up to the users’ Salesforce criteria mapping to place the contact in the associated level. Marketo is integrated in that is sends the data and this is where Marketo ‘leaves off’ and Salesforce ‘begins’?

You can do this.  You'll need to create a smart campaign with a trigger for the criteria, and then the flow action will be changing the level.
