Marketo isn't finding a link on a landing page. I try to create a smart list- any ideas?

I have a mailto link in my email and wanted to create a smart list to track clicks.  When I create the list, Marketo for some reason isnt finding the link that is in my email.

I even tried to type it in manually in the field but it still says it can't find it.

Any ideas on how to work around this?

You can't track mailto links within an email.

When Marketo sends an email containing a link, the link is changed so that the link immediately goes to one of Marketo's tracking domains and then is automatically redirected to the originally linked location.

A mailto link would not go to one of Marketo's tracking domains first, it will open the user's email client instead.

Maybe create a form on a Marketo landing page instead of using a mailto link?

I totally confused myself when I asked this,.  The Mailto link is actually living on a landing page not an email.
