Marketo database clean-up query

Hello,

I want to remove certain contacts from Marketo which are also synced back to Salesforce. My worry is if deleting those contacts from Marketo will also trigger a "remove or delete" action back in Salesforce? We still want to keep those contacts in Salesforce for future utilization..

Can someone please confirm that deleting contacts form Marketo will not delete them from Salesforce?

Hi Yash, when you delete from Marketo, it asks if you want to delete from CRM as well. You would select False at this point.

Yash,

I would be really strategic and careful about deleting leads... you do want to make sure you keep unsubscribes. If you are keeping them in SFDC still that should be fine. But also realize that Marketo dedupes by email address in Marketo. So it may create new leads because these emails are no longer there.
