Marketo Custom Object reporting question

We are using Marketo Custom Objects for our product assets. Here is my challenge. I want to create daily report for each Marketo Custom Object that shows the number of new trials created by the day then enter the object e.g. count records in custom object where Status = Active Trial by date added to custom object (not date created). Any ideas? Am I missing something?

COs aren't "first-class" reportable in this way. While powerful, they can't be made a focal point of the UI/reports like they are in SFDC; they're always secondary to People.

The other way of looking at it is that you have to be getting the COs into the system via a known process(es), and that process can also do the daily accounting.
