Marketing Activities Folder Naming

Hi,

We operate globally with multiple countries using Marketo and their own workspaces. Each country has multiple brands within their workspace.

We are wanting to implement a best practice naming convention but have found we cannot have sub folders with the same name. Does anyone have a workaround or know if a fix for this is coming soon?

Example structure:

Brand A
        Email Programs
              Jan 2014
              Feb 2014
Brand B
        Email Programs
              Jan 2014
              Feb 2014

Within a WS, you cannot have a folder of the same name.

I would go with something similar to what Jesus posted:

Business Unit (often a workspace)
Region
-Archive
-YYYY Channel
--YYYYMMDD - ProgramType - Descriptive Name

You can add a region code to your Programs, but not always necessary.

Program Type could be a code like "WB"
The date on a Program is always the intended launch date; the exception might be a Quarterly or Annual Program like PPC.

Sub Programs, Campaigns, or Assets can be a descriptive name, in folders like so:

Flows
--01 - Invitation
--02 - Registration
Emails
--01 - Invitation
--02 - Confirmation

Hi Kevin, 

You can name your main folder and sub-projects, assets, and other elements using the following naming convention:
  • Main folders: 1 (Number of folder so you keep them in order) + REGION (if applicable) + YEAR (2014) + PROJECT NAME (e.g. Campaigns)
  • Programs: PROGRAM TYPE (e.g. Webinar) + YEAR (to easily identify when searching)
  • Assets: Asset type (e.g. email) + Name (e.g. First Invite) or Subject line
You should have a look on why your subfolders are not working as I have many workspaces working for clients where I have set up a comprehensive folder structrue underneath each workspace.
