Lists Best Practices

We have four distinct groups of people within our database that we need to send regular updates to. These updates are almost operational in function. What is the best practice for organizing them? Do we import them on a static list by group so that they can be segmented accordingly? Does it matter if they already exist within the database?

Hi Chelsea,
you can segment them using a list but you could also segment them by updating a "subscription type" or whatever field. It really depends on your requirements in my opinion.

If you use a list it doesn't matter if they already exist or not. If they don't exist they will be created, if they exist they will be matched.

A static list would work, or you could create a custom field for each type of group and then when you send communications, just filter based on that.
