List Import - why is the total list lower?

Hello,

When I initially imported my list, my program listed this correct number. The list in my folder also has the correct number. However, as I refresh in the control panel, the "audience" went down by over 1k. I do not know why. They are not listed as blocked. So the number on my imported list is correct, but the program lists a much lower number. Can someone provide insight?

Thanks!

When Marketo imports, it dedupes against the database.

Is it possible that some of those people were already in the Program?

Thank you for your reply. I checked my list and deduped manually - it did lower the number, but there are still around 800 or so unique records that I imported to be a part of my campaign that are unaccounted for upon import?

These contacts are most likely accounted for in other lists that have been loaded to Marketo, but I created a new list for my program, and so it shouldn't dedupe against anything, correct?

Hi Lindsay, are you using an email program, and the "audience" number is from the email program dashboard? I have found email programs to be very quirky/finnicky, and the dashboard doesn't always display the right number of people who will receive the campaign. Also, are any of the 800 people you're missing marked as email invalid, unsubscribed, or marketing suspended? If this isn't the case, you might set it up as a smart campaign and see if you would impact the correct number of leads.

Good point Dory. If we had a screenshot of what you were looking at, that would help. I was confused if you meant the Program Summary, the Email Send Summary/Dash, or the Schedule of a Campaign.
