List Import Data Value Change

I'm uploading a CSV file with a list of names from the tradeshow into Marketo. However, during the list imports about 3/4 of the company names are changed to "[n/a]" while the remaining 1/4 of company names are imported without a problem. I've checked the file and everything seems to be formatted correctly. Can anyone give any insight as to why some company names are accepted but the majority are changed?

I have had similar issues before with CSV, even though everything looks good.  If you are on a PC, try downloading Notepad++ and then open the csv file in there and view it.

Depending on how the data was inputted into the csv or where they were acquired from, sometimes hidden invalid characters show up.

If that shows nothing, try opening in notepad or ++ and convert to plain text, then reimport back into excel and create a new .csv.
