List for Releasing Newsletters

I would like to blast Newsletter to certain leads. The leads are categorized under various Group Lists in lead database. In the program for Newsletter blasting, we choose trigger

Lead in: XYZ, ABC and the flow is Sent Email: NL 1.

XYZ, ABC are names of group lists in our lead database where details of leads are present. Is it okay to do so? Will the campaign work? Or do we need to export all lead details into xls from the lead database and then make it available as a local asset within the program? Please suggest

Any smart list or static list is visible to any program and campaign smart list. You do not have to do anything. Lists are just ...lists...they do not contain the data itself.

So yes, your smart list will work as indicated. Be sure you check the counts before you press Run.

Thank you Josh. So it is not necessary to move list from Lead Database to Marketing Activities where the campaigns are present. Great!

Exactly. For smart lists you'll be referring to multiple times over, I'd keep them in the Lead Database neatly labeled so their easily found and easy to use. If it's a one-off effort you can either make the smart list in the program or just directly in the smart campaign. -Kim
