Limited use of attendees list from an event

We received a list of registrants from an event we're participating in next week - and the list is quite large.  We have permission to use their email address just once.  Have any of you dealt with a use-case like this before where you still used Marketo to communicate with them a single instance?  If so, what did you do after you used the list?  After determining which leads are net-new (and not already contained within Marketo), we would obviously want to delete the list so that we don't violate the usage rights.  And then there's the inability to report properly (or even obtain new known leads for those that respond to our offer).  Just looking to see how others may have dealt with this in the past.

I recall having to deal with something similar.

I would set them as marketing suspended after you send with a triggered flow to reverse it if they do something to opt in so you gain permission independently.

Deleting the records after sending would be unfortunate because of the impact on reporting. Are you obliged to delete them forever or just only send once?

Thanks Justin.  I'm trying to get some additional details as we speak.  But my other concern is the list is so large, that it will probably put us over our lead threshold.  It's probably just not worth it - even though it's a good list of targeted leads.

Ah yep. I hear you.

I have thought about using a SendGrid account for one-time purposes like these: http://sendgrid.com/

Only challenge is you would need to warm up a separate domain over there most likely, which takes time.
