Lesson Learned: Unable to clone a Program to a new workspace? Read on.

I was trying to clone an Email Program to a new workspace, and it kept saying that the Email was in use.

If you get this alert, you must *make sure* that the email template used in that program is being shared with both workspaces!

Make sure you see this in your destination Workspace, then you can clone and it will work!

This is why it's so important to build your Marketo environment - when that environment contains multiple workspaces - with as many shareable assets as possible.  We share our landing page templates, email templates, snippets, segmentations, images, files - all contained within the global/default workspace - with all of our 22 country workspaces.  Now if only Marketo would allow the sharing of FORMS, we'd be golden (since we create re-usable/centralized forms in Design Studio, rather than within the program itself).

@Dan Stevens how do you work with global workflows and non-default workspaces? We have a pretty advanced Lead Lifecycle processing program, and our operational lead resurfacing triggers live there. If we could share lists, I could listen for an "added to list", however that's not possible. It also doesn't seem very smart to have to lifecycle processing programs going?

Allison, I can spend hours talking about how we've customized our environment in Marketo to support our global organization - specifically with a multi lead partition/workspace environment.  In fact, I co-presented (with @Ashleigh Davis) on this exact topic during Summit this past April.  Check out our session here:

Sessions – The Marketing Nation Summit, April 13-15, 2015 – Marketo

BTW, we too have a very complex lead lifecycle (which is contained in our global/default workspace so that it affects all leads, regardless of partition/workspace) - each of these campaigns have upwards of 20+ flow steps:
