Question

Lengthy delays with synch of new SFDC Contacts to Marketo?

Today, it took almost 6 hours for new Contacts that we added to Salesforce to synch to Marketo.  Ususally this takes about 5 minutes - 10 to 20 on a bad day.  I submitted a support case and was told that "if the sync was not forced (it does not occur all the time) and if it was forced, then if several batch campaigns were running that can delay the sync.  We had no large batch campaigns running at that time and I have never heard that you have to force a synch from SFDC when a new Contact record is added.  Has anyone else experienced this problem or can point me at a help article about having to force a synch after adding a new Contact in SFDC?

This is new to me as well. I can see a force if you started in Marketo, but not if it was in SFDC - thought that was part of the standard synch. Not even sure how to fire a SFDC push to Marketo.

Will follow this thread for sure...

Clinton, the Marketo tech support rep replied back that he was mistaken and thought I was referring to the synch from Marketo to Salesforce.  Marketo has acknowledged some performance issues over the last week or so and it may be related to that.  Have you or anyone seen lengthy synch delays from your CRM to Marketo?

Oh yes - I've had campaign queues up to 80+ long, this is presumably part of it since the data isn't fully committed to the record yet.

I've been experiencing long synch delays today as well, and now I'm experiencing delays where my landing pages aren't opening - although that seems to have resolved for the moment.
