Is there a workaround for syncing custom fields?

Hello community!

 

Since it's not possible to sync custom fields from Marketo to Dynamics, I am looking for any workaround that someone knows about.
 
The problem
 
- We have created a greater number of custom fields in Marketo.
- These custom fields do not sync with Dynamics per default.
- The custom fields were created some time ago and they are therefore being used in a larger number of assets.
 
The suggestion for a solution
 
- Create the same fields in Dynamics so that Marketo has visibility on them.
- Ask Marketo Support to re-map the fields. In other words, make them do a sort of search-and-replace and find all references to the old custom field8s), and re-map it to the new field(s) that was first created in Marketo. The same process done manually, has the potential to take a lot of time.
 
Questions
 
- How do you normally solve this problem?
- Is this a valid option? Has someone tried to contact support with that kind of request?
- Is there some other way to solve this problem?

Marketo support has confirmed that they can help with remapping a greater larger number of fields, and that the suggested solution is therefore a viable option.
