Is there a way to include Social Share buttons in emails?

When sending emails to leads, is there a way to include the social share trigger directly in the email? I've looked over previous discussions and have not yet found a solution. I understand some of the Java issues, but I'm wondering if there are any updates. Thanks.

The only options in an email are to include the Forward to Friend link that will send the email to the email address provided after clicking it or a button that takes you to a web page with the social share button.

I've only been able to do forward to friend just like Elliott.  Social follow I can add, but not the share.

You cannot place the social share buttons on emails, because they rely on Javascript, which will not get executed on mail clients.  Typically, our customers place social images which will redirect the user to a landing page which has the share buttons
