Is there a way to display titles instead of URL's in an email link performance report?

When building an email, is there any way to assign a link with a title or label that will display in an email link performance report (as opposed to just the url)? So, if you use the same link twice in an email you can see them separately them in the report. Or if you have a link where it's not immediately clear what the landing page is such as a bitly link, you will see the title or label instead?

I'd love to know the answer to this.

I haven't been able to find a way to overcome this.

I think this should be into a product idea.

No, I don't think so.

Post as an Idea if you want. But it would depend on you to post Title and the connection between the email viewer and Marketo.

Hi Michael,

I'm new to Marketo and this is one of the first reporting issues we've noticed as well.  I too would love to know if there is a way to resolve for it.

Thanks,

Tin

Hi Michael,

Thanks to my teammate who came up with a great idea, we employed a workaround so that at least the first part of your question is resolved (re: if you use the same link twice in an email you can see them separately in the report).

Our workaround consists of appending a unique parameter at the end of the URL if that URL is used for more than one link in an email.  For example, we use "?n=lt1," "?n=lt2," etc.  This unique URL parameter will show up in Email Link Performance Reporting and then you'll be able to see the performance between two specific links if they both lead to the same destination URL.

Hope this helps.

Trin's suggestion is the way to go.  This method takes a value in the URL, and stores it into a Marketo field (of your choosing) for each lead that fills out the form.  Here, one for each of the links in your email.  Then you can filter your report off of that field.

It is literally built into Marketo forms & applied in Marketo LPs.  Here are the official product docs to help you modify your form & build a custom link:

Set a Hidden Form Field Value - Marketo Docs - Product Docs

Using the URL Builder - Marketo Docs - Product Docs

Hope you have something good to report on.
