Is there a way to build communication limits without purchasing this "product"?
Just wondering if I can just build in a smart campaign to do the same thing.

Yep...
You can make a smart campaign with:
SMART LIST - Trigger email is delivered (select min number of times and date constraints - ex: 2 in past 1week)
FLOW - Change Data Value Marketing suspended = true.
Then I'd create a separate campaign for Marketing suspended leads and say wait (however long) and then change back... Marketing Suspended = False.
This should work.
