Is email tracked when an user opens only text email?

I've read emails are tracked by including invisible images in emails. When an user only opens a text version of an email, are they still tracked? Is the invisible image just attached to the email?

Hi Hitoshi,

This is true that emails are tracked with the help of a tiny pixel image.
If the recipient opens a text-only image this means that the email doesn't not contain the pixel and therefor the open cannot be detected/tracked.
