Invalid user info automatically deleted

Hi,

Each time I receive an alert from the prospect web server saying "no such user", I tick the Email invalid box and I add "no such user" in Email Invalid Cause. However I have noticed that several times the cause remains but the box is unticked. Is this a system bug?

thanks

Cécile

Hi Cécile,

Do you have an example of a lead that bounced with the error "no such user" and the email invalid box was not checked?

Feel free to submit a support case if that is preferable.

Regards,
Cathal

Cathal,

The issue that I have is not only the fact that the box is not ticked but that when I tick it (and save it) and then go back a couple of weeks later, the box is back to untick. Next time I notice that, I will send copy of email and Marketo screenshot to support.

Two possible causes.
  • Had the records where you observed this change been merged with another record where the Email Invalid field was not checked?
  • Are you synching your leads' Email Invalid field to your CRM system?  If so, if the field is not read only, it is possible that one of your reps is unchecking the field.  We actually had that happen here, so we made the field read only.

we are rarely merging leads in Marketo and we don't have (yet) synchronisation from CRM back to Marketo.

That's why I found case spooky. I thought that maybe a reason could be that contact is invalid according to me (based on data received in email) but not according to Marketo (system hasn't received a signal from lead server)...

What does the Activity Log of the lead indicate changed the field value?

Ift was updated during an import, from a form, etc. you may want to select to block field updates from those sources .   If it was updated by a smart campaign, you may need to check your logic.  If it was updated directly in the lead record, is it possible that someone else on your team accidentally changed it?
