Invalid Token System.date

I built a trigger campaign that upon a pre-define action occuring, captures the {{system.date}}.  When I activate the campaign and click at the results tab, I get the following message in the detail column, "Skipped choice, Had one more more invalid tokens". This does not make much sense to me since the only token being used is the {{system.date}} one from the available list of tokens. Any thoughts?
