Do you know what email format gets best delivery rates when sending marketing emails to contacts in the public sector/federal government? HTML or text format?

Text format always have better delivery rate for any sector. But if you are using images in your template then those will not appear in text version.

Hi @Dilusha DeTissera ,

Even if you are creating an HTML version, It is a repeatedly professed best practice to include a text version of that same email in marketo - to improve email deliverability. (Snapshot below). So I would say you can create an normal email with a well organised text version.

By default, when you create a HTML email, the text version is not organised. So it is extremely important to ensure that the text version is also set up properly while setting up an email in Marketo.

Best Always,

Thanks Karan. I am currently doing what you have suggested. But wanted to see when you send emails to gov email domains does text version renders better than HTML version.

You should send Text-only (not multipart) to sensitive govt and military.

However, only an A/B test across your actual audience can give you hard results.
