How to use form to populate custom field on static list?

Hi,

My name's Ed and I'm from Sydney, Australia.

I regularly send emails using static lists. To insert values which aren't in Salesforce, I've created a custom Marketo field called CommsMerge1, which I'll name one of my fields in my static list. i.e.

FirstName: Gerald
Email: generic@gmail.com
CommsMerge1: $100

I'd like to know how I can use a Marketo form to populate another one of these custom Marketo fields i.e. CommsMerge2.

I've tried creating a form and adding CommsMerge2 as a checkbox but when I tested it, no value would be recorded against the member in the list.

Would appreciate any help here, thanks for reading.

Hi Ed,

I understand that CommsMerge2 is a chackbox in your form but when you created CommsMerge2 as a field in Marketo field management what field type did you choose?

Hi Cathal,

Thanks for your response!

I created it as a string. The checkbox has two values "Yes" and "No". I would have thought the result would be stored as a string in the field but when I complete the form, nothing is updated against the record. Any ideas?

Hi Ed,
maybe you could change the field type to checkbox (in Admin - Field Management), I think that would help. I'm not 100% sure but you could test it.

Best regards
