Question

How to handle webinar registrations from a 3rd party

We just setup our Marketo/GoToWebinar integration.

We are also working with a third party who is promoting the webinar across third party sites. They are just gathering names from their own web forms and sending us a spreadsheet with those names.

So I'm just curious if anyone has any suggestions on how to handle getting them officially into the system so they become part of the webinar program in Marketo and receive registration URL's, get scored, etc.

Thanks in advance for any input.

Hi Ari,

What you can do is upload the list into a static list and then run a campaign where the smart list references the static list you just created and then in the flow use the "change program status" to either add them as members or you can mark them as attended or did not attend etc.

Phillip,

Thanks for the input.

Is changing the program status to "registered" what triggers the integration to kick in and actually register them in GoToWebinar and return the member URL value?

Yes Philip. The status of "Registered" is what does that. I'd put in a 1 minute wait step to allow the information to return from G2W before the email gets sent out.

You can have a triggered campaign, When added to list = XX webinar partner list, then > Change Status to Registered. Wait 1 minute. Send email.
