How to create a report based on smart list membership?

Hi,

I have created a series of smart lists with following criteria:
campaign medium = x
score = y

Now I would like to have a report  that lists:
- in lines the sub-categories of medium x
- in columns the score range
- in each cell the number of leads that match both the sub-category and the score range

As a result I have selected
- filter: campaign medium = x (smart list)
- group leads by sub-categories (set-up)
- custom columns: by smart lists (set-up)

But it doesn't work! I have only data in the total column. No split under my custom columns! what did I do wrong?

Advance apologies for the following dumb questions.  By "No split under my custom columns", do you mean that your custom columns have no value in any of their cells?  Are your custom column smart list time periods the same or longer than that defined in your report and do they also include the filter: campaign medium = x?  Do your smart lists have leads in them?

By "No split under my custom columns", do you mean that your custom columns have no value in any of their cells? 
yes. I can only see values in total column

Are your custom column smart list time periods the same or longer than that defined in your report?
My smart lists include only leads that have done an x activity in April but the report includes leads that have been created all time

and do they also include the filter: campaign medium = x? 
Lists have been based on same original filter as report, I'm just adding a score criteria to them

Do your smart lists have leads in them?
smart lists = auto-populated lists and yes they have leads inside

Is it the type of reports I'm selecting? Lead Report? Which one?

Cécile, I created a report similar to yours with custom columns that are based on the value in score fields, and it did have values in the custom columns for each "Group Leads by" value - including a "0" when there were no leads that met the criteria of the row and column intersection.

Have you tried adding a different custom column to see if you observe the same behavior and/or creating a new Leads by medium report to see if that has the same problem.  If so, it's probably time to open a case with tech support.

Thanks, can you attach a screenshot of the actual report? Are the custom columns showing up at all or are the values just not being populated?

I'm wondering if your column names are too long but it may be time to call support.
