How to change custom object field type of the unique identifier

Hello,

We currently have a custom object set up for on24 but I need to change the field type for eventuserid which happens to be the unique identifier for the object. From the research I've done it seems like I can't edit this field and the only way to solve the issue is to delete the object and then recreate it.

Since we have data in this custom object and it's actively being used I'm trying to avoid that so I'm hoping someone else out there has found a solution to this problem!

And if I end up having to go the delete/recreate route, MKTO support told me to follow this article to retrieve my custom object data first https://developers.marketo.com/blog/how-to-retrieve-every-custom-object/ but we currently have 18,000 records that are affected by this so I'm hoping for a better way there as well.

There's a new bulk CO export that should make that part smoother. AFAIK you still have to delete and recreate.
