How the lead data update works while sync?

Hello,
 
Could anyone tell me how the lead data update works while syncing SFDC and Marketo?
 
I'd like to know the rules such as
"Marketo will update Salesforce if a filed is blank in Salesforce." or
"if a "company name" field has a newer status in Marketo, the status in Salesforce updates with that newer status".
 
Is there any help article states the rules and conditions of data update?

I expect something like this: Marketo Program and Salesforce Campaign Sync Overview

You can define the update rules on a field by field basis manually in the admin tab in Marketo. Key fields to look at blocking updates to are phone number, job title...you are correct that empty alway wins...it gets updated.

Thanks a lot for your help.
I understand that I can define the field which blocks update via admin section.

What I still don't understand is how it works when Marketo and Salesforce both have a value on the same field, and this field doesn't block update. Do you know what's the rule in that case? "Salesforce always win" , "The newer value always win" or "Neither of them is updated"?

I hope to hear from you again soon, or someone can help me find out.

If you do not have updates blocked for a specific field via the admin tab new values from form submits or list uploads will first over-write the data in Marketo and then on the next update sync between Marketo and SalesForce over-write SalesForce data. Best to turn on the roll-back function on all key SalesForce fields.
