How does Marketo do Account Based Scoring?

I recently listened to this summit recording - The Marketing Nation Summit, May 9-12, 2016 – Marketo - Sessions (The Force Awakens: Secrets to Improving Marketing and Sales Alignment) - and the speakers ​ and ​ mentioned that Marketo uses Account scoring for their own marketing/sales processes. Anyone have any idea how they do it? Or if it's through a vendor? Trying to set this up for my org.
