How do I hide an opportunity field from marketo?

We're trying to hide fields in marketo that are on the opportunity in salesforce. When our marketo admin goes to hide the field in marketo, she's getting the error "Hide field is not allowed on opportunity info fields marketo."

In the past (previous administrator), we were able to hide oportunity fields, I imagine there's a different work around to get these hidden? Or do we just hide them in salesforce and that does the trick?

You need to hide it on the SFDC side from the Marketo user.

Hiding fields inside Marketo only works for certain types of fields and often only if no asset is using that field.

    Thank you Josh - that's what we suspected, but we wanted to be sure! Any idea if hiding opp fields cause sync errors in marketo that our marketo admin will need to resolve?
