I have 2 anonymous leads with web activity and want to drill-down into which pages they viewed. I know the company names and that they are anonymous but I cant quite figure out how to do this. Thanks!

Hi Christina - Go the the Activity Log of the anon lead record and you'll see the pages they visited.

https://docs.marketo.com/display/public/DOCS/Locate+the+Activity+Log+for+a+Lead

You could also make a smart list using two filters to see anonymous leads visiting web pages. Then click the lead and go to the Activity Log to see which pages.

Hi Tim,

Thanks but I dont see how to view the activity log of an anonymous person. I go to Lead Database, and then search the company name. Then I see a list of people and at the top, it says 'Does not include anonymous leads'. So Im unclear how to see anonymous leads.

The better way to search for anonymous leads is using a smart list not via the Lead Database search as that's intended for known leads.

If you're searching by a company name then Marketo is looking a the "Company Name" field and that means they're not anonymous.

So give the smart list above a try, and then bring over the Inferred Company Name and enter the name of the company.

Here's your smart list:

  • Visited Web Page is Any
  • Is Anonymous True
  • Inferred Company Name is [name of the company you want to look at]

Anonymous leads have data from their IP address and all that info is stored in the Inferred x fields. (Inferred Company Name, Inferred State etc.)

Hope that helps

I should point out that in your lead view of your smart list you should bring over all those Inferred X fields otherwise you won't see what much data.
